Solo Repertoire for Violinists and Violists
Smokey Serenade is a piece originally written for a latin jazz quartet, Red Cats at Midnight., featuring solo violin, guitar, double bass and percussion. I have arranged it for solo violin with piano accompaniment. This piece is a tango style piece featuring bowed and pizzicato chords, cadenza sections and a sonorous melody line! It was first performed at the Tintern Schools’ staff concert in around 2009 and has now been recorded and performed numerous times with Red Cats at Midnight.
